A close-up of the casting attached to the board and frame in the locked position.

In this open unlocked position the board can be rotated.

The board had a lock at both ends. My bride, who is a lot smarter than me, suggested the board might rotate more freely if we put a pin on one end. The locks on both ends can work at cross purposes and may be one reason the plastic locks failed.

We welded a steel 3/8" pin in a piece of 5/8" thick bar stock and used the existing screws to attach it to the board.

A view of the board.
